I love to shop at my local Thrift store. It's literally addicting. After being a single mom for a few years ,juggling a mortgage, two children, bills, and everyday life I had to cut corners somewhere and my wardrobe costs were on the top of my list. I love fashion and everything that goes along with it but I can't afford Dolce&Gabana on my salary at least not retail. And after all who really wants to pay retail when you there are ways to get around it!

so here is this past weekends finds:

1. turquoise/chocolate paisley/tropical print gold beaded asymmetrical top with long bell sleeves v neck with cross front strap. hip length (translucent but not totally see thru). It's somewhat fitted thru the waist. This was a great find and paid $1.88 for it. I can't wait to get a picture up hopefully tomorrow. It's totally Miami or looks as though it was designed by Uli from Project Runway. I paired it with a cute pair of white short shorts Saturday night with a an awesome pair of gold strappy stilettos.

2. White cotton tailored shirt with tan trim/ front pockets :brand - Ann Taylor - this was a super find (and still had the tags attached) especially since I work in a professional atmosphere. This shirt will match at least three suits I own plus it looks amazing with a solid colored pencil skirt and I paid $2.88 for it!

3. Silk Blend angora cotton fitted pullover with keyhole neckline in pale pink : brand name - Ann Taylor--I 'm still a few months away as far as blending this into my wardrobe goes but at $2.88 who could resist. This top will look great w/ winter white and will also look great paired with a button up collar shirt underneath

4. black talilored boot cut brushed cotton dress pants: brand name - Banana Republic - for a $1.88 who could'nt use another pair of black dress pants

5. Khaki corduroy baby doll dress - brand name - Real Comfort - this is a more preppy style than I am used to but it was so cute. It's fitted underneath the bust so It still shows off your figure and it cuts right above the knee which gives more of a sassy look. I think this is going to fair well with knee high boots this fall. It was just so cute. I could not resist for $1.88.
I also found a nice taylored knee length red print skirt and a very long fitted aqua/ black print skirt which I decided to turn into a strapless number and wear underneath a black suit jacket. tTese were both great pieces to mix into my everyday work attire.

A few side notes about Thrift store shopping: Most Stores add new items to their racks once a week. Find out what day that is and be sure to shop the day after they are in. The most plenitful sizes in Women's clothing seem to be size 0 - 6 / xs/ small. Not sure why this is but so Thankful. If you do happen to fall into this size catagory be sure to also check the girls sizes as well. I seem to always find small womens sizes tucked in the girls clothing. Remmber that most Thrift stores do not have dressing rooms so be sure to wear somthing that you can try on clothes over. I find that workout clothing does well. Always go on a day when you have plenty of time to shop esopecially since it sort of feels like you are digging for gold.
